Cultural Competency

Our Cultural Commitment

University Family Care (UFC) values the many people who live in the areas we serve. We understand that there are many different lifestyles and ethnic backgrounds in Cochise, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, and Yuma counties.

UFC knows that your health is affected by your beliefs, culture, and values. We want to help you keep and maintain good health and good relationships with providers who understand your needs. If you feel that there is a problem, please contact us. We will help you find a provider who will better understand your personal needs.

UFC provides language interpretive services for members at no cost. If you cannot speak to your provider because of a language barrier, please contact our Customer Care Center. We can schedule a telephonic interpreter to help with your appointment. If you need this or any of our other printed materials in another language, please call us.

If you need material in a different format, perhaps in a larger print, we can help too. Call us and let us know if we have overlooked anything that is important to you. We will try to help, including setting up appointments with Sign Language services. We want you to be comfortable with the people and services that make up UFC.

Call Customer Care and let us know about your heritage, culture, & health practices. We can help you find providers who understand your values. We can also give you information about health concerns you may have.
