Change to Dental Network: Effective 01/01/12
We are pleased to announce beginning January 1, 2012 DentaQuest (DQ) will be delegated for the benefit administration of dental services for our University Family Care (UFC) AHCCCS members. As an organization we have worked with DQ for over seven years and are pleased to announce this new partnership. As a part of their duties, DQ will be responsible for contracting with all dental providers, including clinics, and providing necessary authorizations and utilization management. Additionally, DQ will process all dental claims, conduct some oversight of quality of care and provide all dental network communications and provider education. Read more

Overview


University Family Care is a health plan for AHCCCS and KidsCare members. AHCCCS is Arizona’s Medicaid program and KidsCare is Arizona's health insurance for children under 19. University Family Care has been serving members with respect, dignity and compassion since 1983.

The University of Arizona Health Plans (UAHP) operates University Family Care. UAHP also administers University Healthcare Group, a state sponsored health plan for small businesses, and manages Maricopa Health Plan for the Maricopa Integrated Health System. UAHP is a division of The University of Arizona Health Network (UAHN), a non-profit company.

In addition to the Health Plans, UAHN is the practice group for the University of Arizona College of Medicine faculty. UAHN is one of the largest medical group practices in Arizona, with seventeen clinics in southern Arizona providing both primary care and a wide range of specialty care services. In addition, UAHN operates University Medical Center South Campus and has several clinical practice sites in Tucson supplying subspecialty services to Maricopa County.

University Family Care members have access to a large and strong provider network that includes, but is not limited to, the faculty practice of The University of Arizona Health Network (UAHN). UAHN is the largest group medical practice in Arizona, with seventeen clinics in southern Arizona providing both primary care and a wide range of specialty care services. Many UAHN physicians are leaders in their fields, both in clinical medicine and research. UAHN is a highly visible and well-regarded contributor to the Arizona healthcare and business community.
